Just a few steps out the road from your cottage, there is a look-out area where you can sit and watch either icebergs or whales in season. There are also excellent viewing areas in many of the communities in the area. Here are links for more information about Iceberg watching and Whale watching.

You can also take chartered boat tours with licensed companies to do some puffin and whale-watching from the ocean. There are a number of local operators around the island. We have taken the boat tour around the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, and it was fantastic – excellent photo opportunities of puffins and whales.
